Candice Andrews
Founder & Board President
A lifelong Texan, she is the proud mother of three children, including her son Everett, whose strength and light continue to inspire the organization's mission. After losing Everett to pediatric cancer, Candice felt called to create something meaningful in his honor. T-Rex Strong was built from both the support her family received and the things she wishes had been available during their journey. It has also become a place where she can continue pouring the love she has for Everett into helping other families, honoring his life as she continues learning to carry her grief.
Today, through T-Rex Strong, Candice works to bring comfort, encouragement, practical support, and remembrance to children and families facing pediatric cancer.
Outside of T-Rex Strong, Candice treasures spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and believes just about anything can be turned into a family adventure. During their first summer without Everett, she created the T-Rex Strong Dino Hide & Seek project as a way to carry Everett with them as they found their way back into the world. What began as a family's way of honoring Everett has grown into a worldwide community that has shared more than 4,500 dinosaurs across all 50 states and six continents, spreading joy, raising awareness for pediatric cancer, sharing Everett's story, and keeping his light shining bright.
As a family, their love of dinosaurs has grown from his, and they find joy in celebrating the little boy he was, watching for the hearts Everett sends, and creating the kinds of family adventures they know he would have loved.
